WHITEWATER — Two people were hurt, one seriously, after a head-on collision in the Town of Whitewater early on Tuesday, November 13th.
The wreck happened on Highway 12 near Indian Mound Parkway just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
53-year-old William Fojut of Whitewater was traveling westbound on Hwy. 12 in a pickup truck and apparently crossed the center line. Fojut struck an SUV traveling the opposite direction driven by 54-year-old David Wegner of Fort Atkinson.
Wegner was trapped in his SUV and had to be cut out by emergency responders. He was flown by Flight for Life to a hospital with multiple injuries. Fojut was taken to a hospital for minor injuries — and later released.
Both men were wearing their safety belts and both vehicles had their airbags deploy.
The Walworth County Crash Investigation Unit is investigating this incident. At this point, it does not appear alcohol or drugs are contributing factors in this crash.
